The Summer School program will actively engage people to adopt the user-centred and multi-stakeholder approach to integrate research results and professional knowledge on specific topics related to adaptation to climate change in the fields of water, soil and forest management.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will include interactive formats for researchers, experts, public administrations, farm advisory agents and other actors of the agriculture sector in North and North-West Tunisia to interact and share experiences. Two Spring Schools will be organized until 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Spring School training program targets diverse profiles of participants, including young technicians, advisory agents, engineers, prone farmers to adopt innovation, professional associations such as farmer unions and NGOs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Topics and concrete focus of the different seminars will be aligned with the FAS agents\u2019 interests as well as the availability of researchers who can contribute on these topics, adopting a tailored approach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Seminars will be conducted both by FASTER international partner organisations\u2019 experts and Tunisian Researchers and professionals. Language barriers will be overcome by providing translations, as well as by facilitating training material to participants in advance. The overall experience will be enhanced by the close collaboration with the local FASTER team.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the Spring School participants will be involved in interactive sessions with high-level experts and professionals who can integrate the research results and conclusions presented with experience-based knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n

Implication of innovation prone farmers is crucial for successful transfering of project\u2019s results into the practitioners\u2019 environment. Indeed, FAS agents consulted indicate that farmers tend to mistrust theoretical advice without any proven benefit, and tend to prefer peer-to-peer advice. The FAS agents are also eager to integrate experience-based knowledge into their knowledge transfer products and actions. For all the above, Tunisian project partners will foster specific field trips to be organised during the Spring Schools to explore the most interesting projects in the region dealing with adaptation to climate change in water, soil and forest management.<\/span><\/p>\n
