Training activities offered by FASTER
To boost the objectives of increasing development of the human resources and building capacity of scientific staff within INRGREF on adaptation to climate change in land and water management, research skills, internationalisation, innovation and leadership to improve research excellence, innovation capacity and scientific quality of the institution concerned, 3 sets of training courses with international lecturers will be organised by FASTER and its partners.

Brief description
To raise awareness, promote an effective and integrated methodology and offer support to the identified Tunisian and international key-stakeholders – as well as Tunisian project’s partners – FASTER, in collaboration with The Node for Opportunities, Development and Environment organised targeted multidisciplinary trainings and capacity-building on various cross-cutting key topics, at the heart of European and international agenda.
This includes key aspects, knowledge, processes, as well as the capacities’ development of key-selected staff in understanding, managing and operating at international standards levels. These aspects are assumed to be a first step advantageous to further developing research excellence and harvest its benefits for the public and private sector.

The topics of the trainings
For decision-makers, a focus was put on “Leadership, innovation and effective decision-making for international cooperation”, with a 3-hours training by Tomas Matraia.
For Researchers, two days of trainings were organized, with the following topics:

Brief description
The primary objective of this course program was to increase the development of human resources and build the capacity of scientific staff within INRGREF. More specifically, it focused on honing their research skills, internationalisation, innovation and leadership to improve research excellence, innovation potential and the overall scientific quality of the institution.
The research excellence tools training comprised five excellence-training courses and has been organised by CREAF, Lund, Vision and EfB in October 2019, to provide the necessary knowledge and tools to increase research performance indicators.

Brief description
The primary objective of the specialized training program is to increase and update the educational and research capacity of INRGREF and associated partners. Specifically, this will focus on enhancing research skills and tools and improving research excellence, innovation potential and the overall scientific quality of the institutions.
Thus, the specialized training program comprises at least nine excellence-training courses that will be organised by CREAF and Lund University, to provide the necessary knowledge and tools to increase research performance indicators.

The topics of the training
The 1st Specialized training program focused on adaptation to climate change in forest, water and landscape management in the Mediterranean, governance and policy analysis for adaptation. It was hosted online from 2 to 6 November 2020.
