How can Research & Innovation help achieve climate neutrality?

Next 6 and 7 July 2021, the European Commission and the European Research Executive Agency (REA) are presenting their “European Green Deal Cluster Event”. The online conference is part of the EU’s feedback-to-policy activities. It brings together EU policymakers, researchers, and experts to inquire how R&I can help achieve fairer and greener climate policy goals.

The cluster event connects the most outstanding projects and researchers funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and other research and innovation initiatives under the remit of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport. Starting at 10:15 AM (Europe/Madrid time), Leonardo Piccinetti, Managing Director of our partner Europe for Business, will be presenting his session titled “Removal and Recovery of Pharmaceutical Persistent Pollutants from Wastewater (RECOPHARMA).It will be part of a bigger section called Eliminating Pollution, which addresses the EU Action Plan: ‘Towards Zero Pollution for Air, Water and Soil’ that aims to reduce pollution and boost the transition to a clean, circular and climate neutral economy.

The FASTER project is well aware that promoting research and innovation is crucial to fighting climate change and adopting sustainable behaviours to take care of our limited resources. We invite you to join not only Mr Piccinnetti’s session but the whole cluster event to grow your knowledge in these important topics.
